Secondary Containment

A Practical And Economical First Alert System

Unlike other valve alternatives, the MCF solution to fugitive emissions does not always require a complete replacement of valves. If you already have MCF ISO type ball valves in service, simply retrofit the center sections with an MCF secondary containment unit and appropriate monitoring device. If for any reason an MCF ISO mount ball valve should develop a stem leak, the difference in pressure or the presence of media within the secondary containment unit is immediately registered by a gauge or sensing device.

Simultaneously the secondary stem seal will prevent leakage to atmosphere and give maintenance personnel time to schedule corrective actions.

Three (3) chevron type stem packing rings ensure secondary stem seal integrity preventing media leaks to atmosphere.
A long lasting "O" ring seal is designed and engineered to outlast the primary valve stem seal ensuring secondary containment.
Direct (ISO 5211) configuration allows easy retrofit of all MCF ISO valve center assemblies. All other MCF standard center sections can be economically replaced with MCF ISO center sections supporting secondary containment units.
A PTFE seal prevents leaks to atmosphere or in vacuum service to media.
A strategically placed monitoring connection allows choice of pressure gauge and/or "sniffer" sensing device for early detection of a primary stem seal leak.
A free rotating piston type design ensures an average minimal torque increase of less than 15 inch pounds, not enough to warrant an increase in actuator requirements.
All stainless steel body machined from 316L stainless steel means strong body component integrity capable of withstanding severe operating conditions and/or hostile external environments.
ISO diameter and configuration are the same as the valve ISO pad. Transfer of manual or automated actuators is completed with minimum time and effort while retaining consistent valve stem and actuator alignment.
